I was so glad to get a call from John Parker the other day. John is the son of Guy Parker, a legendary barbecue pit master who ran a beloved restaurant in Goldsboro, N.C., for 44 years. His family served some of the best 'cue I have ever had, but also made us all feel like brothers and sisters and reminded us just how sweet life can be.
